How to Get from those Airports to the City Center

In the previous post on “what to do in Paris in 3 days” we’ve mentioned that Paris is the second most visited city in Europe after London. Paris has 3 big airports, which make the city easily accessible from anywhere in the world.
There are several modes of transportation in Paris so you can choose the one that suits you best.
CHARLES DE GAULLE AIRPORT
Charles de Gaulle Airport is the main of the three airports in Paris and also throughout France.
This airport is located only 25 kilometers northeast of Paris. It has three terminals. International terminals are located in Terminals 1 and 2, and low cost flights companies are in Terminal 3. These terminals are connected by a FREE bus to connect from one to another.
How to Get from Charles de Gaulle to Paris:
By Train: RER B
Roissypole train station was located in the CDG Airport itself. The B3 line of the RER trainline connects this station to the center of Paris.
We chose this option because it is the most convenient and value for money. We bought tickets at the counters in the station when we arrived. It cost us about €10 per person on our trip in early 2019.
The train ride was about 25 minutes to Gare du Nord and about 30 minutes to Châtelet-Les Halles. Trains run between 5.00 am to 12.00 midnight at a frequency of 10-15 minutes.
Bus
Air France Bus:
Air France has two buses that make the journey from the airport to the center of Paris:
Line 2: stops at Porte Maillot and Place de l’Etoile. It runs between 5:45am and 23:00pm, passing every 30 minutes. The duration of the trip is approximately 1 hour.
Line 4: stops at Gare de Lyon and Gare de Montparnasse. It runs between 6:00am and 10:00pm, passing every 30 minutes.
RATP/Roissybus:
These buses connects the three terminals of the airport and also goes to the center of Paris. It stops in front of the Palais Garnier. It would also stop at the Opéra metro stop that connects with lines 3, 7, 8, 9 and RER A.
This bus runs from 6.00am to 8.45pm for a frequency of 10 minutes and from 8.00pm to 10.00pm frequency of 15 minutes and from 10.00pm to 11.00pm every 30 minutes. The route is about 50 minutes.
Two of its lines go from the airport to the center of Paris:
No. 350 goes from the airport to Gare de l’Est and
No. 351 goes from the airport to Plaza Nation.
Supposedly these buses run every 15 minutes from Monday to Friday and every 30 minutes on weekends and holidays. And we say “supposedly” because this was our first option when we landed at the airport as it was the cheapest option, but we no luck trying to catch one. First we were waiting at the stop for about an hour and no bus appeared with those numbers.
Then, we went to ask one of the drivers and his answer was that if we were in Paris we would have enough money to pay for another more expensive transportation on a sarcastic tone…..(whaaaat? lol)
In the end we decided to go back to the train station and take the RER B. Problem solved.
Noctilien:
This is the night bus that goes from the airport to the city.
No. 140 and 143 reach Gare de l’Est. They circulate every night from 12.00pm to 5.00am in the morning. They run every 30 minutes and the trip takes about 1 hour.
Taxi / Transfer Service Door to Door
You can also use the Taxi services if have budget for it. Taxis are at the entrance of the airport. The price can exceed €50 and add a 15% surcharge on Sundays and holidays between 7.00pm and 10.00 am.
